Governing bodies for paddlesport in the UK
British Canoeing was formerly known as the British Canoe Union and is the governing body for paddlesports in the UK.
The Scottish Canoe Association is the National Governing Body for Paddlesport in Scotland.
Canoe Wales is the national governing body for paddlesport in Wales.
The Canoe Association of Northern Ireland (CANI) is the governing body responsible for the management, co-ordination, development and promotion of paddlesport in Northern Ireland.
Watersports for children
The Westminster Boating Base is a charity based in Pimlico, on the central London River Thames. The WBB teach children and adults to kayak, sail and drive powerboats while developing team building and leadership skills in a fun environment.

Canoe slalom
Canoe Slalom is an independent website run for the sport of canoe slalom in the UK. Although informally recognised as “the” slalom website, it is not owned or controlled by British Canoeing or the Slalom Committee.

Paddle Sports shops
Whitewater the Canoe Centre. This is the largest shop for watersports equipment in or around London. It has everything you need to go paddling and is based at Shepperton (London).
Swindon Watersports. This well-stocked little shop is right next to Half Penny Bridge in Lechlade on the River Thames. They also run paddlesports courses too.
The SUP HUT / Surf-Unique-Paddlesports is a shop in Swansea for all things Stand Up Paddle Boarding. The shop is run by Matt Barker-Smith who was the BSUPA British SUP surfing champion three times. The shop caters for flatwater, sup racing, exploring, cruising, riding waves or foiling and riding above them.
